Case Study 1: Renovation in a Listed Building
Mrs Service wanted a completely new look for her Grade II listed two bedroom period property in Winchester.
The apartment had not been decorated for a long time and was showing some wear and tear.
She needed the apartment to be re-decorated with plenty of care because of its period features such as Victorian cornicing and plaster work and beautiful delicate sash windows.
We took the time to advise on the right colours that would compliment such a beautiful period property whose features needed bringing to life.
We then carefully took the time to fully prepare the property so that all the wood work was sanded down and repaired. The original fittings were removed and polished before being returned. All the cracks in the cornicing and Victorian plaster work were carefully repaired. We then took the time to complete a perfect finish in stunning period colours to really bring the property into its own.
Case Study 2: Multi-skilled Work on a Tight Timescale
Mr and Mrs Theobald needed someone to re-decorate their rental property. The Victorian terrace property had been rented out for a number of years and had taken some wear and tear from the tenants.
The property had issues with damp and also had various stains up the walls from student parties. The woodwork had also taken a battering from the movement of furniture in and out every time new tenants took on the property.
Mr and Mrs Theobald needed the work done quickly so they didn’t lose rent and therefore had to fit the work in during the small period of time between tenants. They also wanted the work done to a high standard that was sympathetic to the Victorian style of the property.
The work had to be completed over the weekend and required some long hours. As well as painting and decorating there were other jobs that required completing too such as replacing curtain rails, skirting and door hanging. Having such a diverse team meant we were also able to complete these jobs as part of the work.
